The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the holding of the international competition Land of Startups. Its goal is to attract foreign startups and their founders to Uzbekistan, accelerate technology transfer, and strengthen the country's role as a regional startup hub.

Participants will compete in five areas: artificial intelligence; digital solutions for education, healthcare, and government services; financial technologies; creative industries and development of computer and mobile games; and business and industry solutions.

Each of the 25 winning teams will be eligible for investments of up to $200,000 from the venture fund under the IT Park directorate. The funds will be allocated following a comprehensive project and team review—the due diligence procedure.

The resolution also amends the operational rules of IT Park. Mandatory integration with tax authorities' information systems is canceled for accounting and measurement tools developed by residents in the automation sector.

The IT Park directorate will no longer be required to submit tax and statistical reports or provide information on conducted IT training courses.

The list of permitted activities for residents will be expanded to include the production and sale of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence devices, micro- and nanoelectronics, and intelligent robots. It will also include the activities of business angel clubs.
