Uzcard and Humo to be connected to Apple Pay as well
The Central Bank confirmed that this will happen in the near future
The press service of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the imminent expansion of the Apple Pay service functionality through the integration of Uzcard and Humo cards.
"The launch of Apple Pay in Uzbekistan will be another step toward integrating the country's payment infrastructure with international digital payment technologies. Additionally, users will gain more opportunities for convenient and modern payment for purchases," the regulator emphasized.
At the initial stage, a number of domestic banks with Visa and Mastercard international system cards have already been connected to the Apple payment system.
The Central Bank noted that the list of partner banks and supported card types will be expanded as the technical readiness of banks' infrastructure and national payment operators progresses.
